Living the Belizean Life by Tamsynn Moodley

Tamsynn Moodley, an SOS intern from Canada, shares her 3-month experience working at the CRC.
  • "When daily inconveniences of tarantula’s invading your room and scorpion’s secretly plotting to get you no longer make you terrified to go to the “bartroom” in the middle of the night
  • When the bite of an ant now equals a tickle
  • When ants in all their varieties are just part of everything you do….sleep, eat, or drink
  • When you speak a broken Kriol dialect of your own…..
  • When you are continuously learning from those around you
  • and When you TRULY embrace a community with no judgement, but simply love all that is around you
………..When these occur and more, that is when one can say, they have lived the     Belizean life. When members of the village recognize me on the street, or on a bus     that is nowhere near Columbia, that is when I can say in some small way,                 the community accepted me as part of their community….thank you to my fellow     Columbiano’s. I will miss your smiling faces and greetings ….every time I walked     down the street."
